Through the following Privacy Policy we provide you with information on what personal data we collect when you visit our website https://codebase.helmholtz.cloud and/or use our online services and how we utilize your data.
When users are just browsing the website, data such as the computer’s IP address, internet browser used, date, time of day and duration spent on the page is logged for a period of seven days. This data will be collected from anybody, whether you hava an account or not. In principal, this data is only analyzed when technical problems or attacks on our service arise. We may collect anonymous aggregated statistics to better understand how visitors use the Website, to improve our Websites and experience for visitors, and to monitor security of the Websites.
If you create an account, which means you log in for the first time by using one of the provided methods, we require some basic information. We will store a valid email address and a username. You also have the option to give us more information if you want to, and this may include "User Personal Information."
Generally, GitLab@HZDR will retain User Personal Information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services.
We may retain certain User Personal Information indefinitely, unless you delete it or request its deletion. For example, we don’t automatically delete inactive user accounts, so unless you choose to delete your account, we will retain your account information indefinitely.
After an account has been deleted, certain data, such as contributions to others' repositories and comments in others' issues, will remain. However, we will delete or deidentify your personal information, including your user name and email address, from the author field of issues, merge requests, and comments by associating them with the ghost user.
The email address you have supplied via your Git commit settings will always be associated with your commits in the Git system. If you chose to make your email address private, you should also update your Git commit settings. We are unable to change or delete data in the Git commit history — the Git software is designed to maintain a record — but we do enable you to control what information you put in that record.
