this PR (together with psyplot/psy-simple#17 and psyplot/psy-maps#18 fixes disables displaying data if it is not contained by the drawn artist (see #26 (closed)). Furthermore, we add new options for coloring the background, related to the new lsm options (see psyplot/psy-maps#17).

Tests passed (for all non-documentation changes)
