Can't install with docker-compose on Ubuntu 24.04 (python requests lib too new)

Can't install Herbie with docker-compose on Ubuntu 24.04 .

→ docker-compose -f docker-compose.yml up -d
docker.errors.DockerException: Error while fetching server API version: HTTPConnection.request() got an unexpected keyword argument 'chunked'

According to this Stackoverflow post (Specifically, this answer) the problem seems to be that Python's requests library is too new on that distribution.

People have downgraded with

pip3 install requests==2.29.0

I know how to find a workaround, just saying. (I have already successfully installed Herbie on an older machine just fine. I don't need any help).

workaround: Install a Virtual Env and then:

export PYTHONPATH=$HOME/.virtualenvs/herbie/lib/python3.12/site-packages:$PYTHONPATH && docker-compose -f docker-compose.prod.yml up -d
