Discuss the option to also expose the Metadata as DDI

DDI is a metadata format that is common and standardized (see https://ddialliance.org/)

Can we adopt it?
Should it be the main format or go along with the old YAML format?
There does not seem to be a package to it yet → write one in a separate project?
