Collect ideas to improve the search
In https://gitlab.hzdr.de/hub-terra/sms/orchestration/-/issues/34 we discussed that our current search options is somehow limited when we have to deal with hundrets of device instances of a particular type (SMT 100 for example).
Marvin mentioned that the basic way to search (for GFZ hydrology section) is the following:
- Site (Fürstensee) maybe with project (Tereno-NO) pre-filter
- Configuration
- Mounted devices
This kind of search is currently possible with our configurations (the sites are still to todo). Maybe this can still be extended (I think a little bit in a browse way, not exactly like https://sensor.awi.de/?site=path but 1. selection of project, 2. site, 3.configuration, 4. first level of currently mounted platforms/devices, 5. second level of currently mounted platforms/devices, ...; but maybe they should then already show the full device/platform hierarchy for a configuration, as I don't necessarly know under which platform my device was mounted)
However, this will not work for devices that are currently not mounted, so we miss a warehouse perspective here. My best bet here is something like GIPP https://gipp.gfz-potsdam.de/instrumentcategories so that we have a hierarchy of device types that we can select and after selecting a type we have an overview about the instances here: https://gipp.gfz-potsdam.de/instrumentcategories/view/5
This kind of search is also very important for the search for platforms/devices that should be mounted in a configuration. Here we really must make sure that the user finds the exact device instance that she/he searched for.
