PID: use existing?

We have the possibility to generate PIDs via SMS, but what if there already is a PID for a device?

Background: I was just discussing with a colleague if we should put ACTRIS devices in SMS, which already have a PID (example device, one from FZJ actually: https://cloudnet.fmi.fi/instrument/324507c6-ce8e-489c-9e62-01926a6b1d63).
