Concept for streamlined data model

During our different SMS- and STA-meetings, it gets clearer and clearer that a more streamlined SMS data model would be highly desirable. Some reasons for that are:

• Less degrees of freedom, how a system can be designed with different platforms and devices --> improves usability
• Easier to maintain in the database due to removal of entities --> reduces effort for maintenance
• More consistency with O2A-Registry as they only use "items", that can be grouped into different hierarchical levels --> using a single and more consistent data model means less "edge-cases" and tailored solutions for downstream systems (MaTS, EDP, etc.)
• First (and important) step towards more automatic / guided device integration
