Create functions to turn a valid iFDO into a reference (e.g. bibtex or ris) for citation
When citing data, a reference is required. Some formats exist to write down citeable information such as bibtex or ris. These are understood by reference management software like Mendeley etc. To help scientists use iFDOs also for citation we need to be able to turn the information from within an iFDO into bibtex and ris format (these are distributed at PANGAEA so lets just start with these two).
The mapping of the required fields looks like this:
bibtex:
@misc {image-pi + image-set-uuid,\n author = {image-pi},\n title = {image-set-name},\n howpublished = {\url{image-set-handle}},\n month = {image-datetime:month},\n year = {image-datetime:year},\n note = {image-abstract},\n doi = {image-set-handle},\n type = {image data set}\n }
ris:
TY - DATA\n ID - image-pi + image-set-uuid\n ST - image-set-name\n AU - image-pi\n DA - image-datetime\n AB - image-abstract\n AU - image-creators\n DO - image-set-handle\n UR - https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.883838\n ER -
