NTR: "self-information"
Relevant to #16 (closed) #22 (closed) !12 (merged)
In discussion during today's call, @jos.lehmann @pier.buttigieg and @clemster approached a consensus that we should clarify what kind of "information" we deal with in our classes. This should also make it into the overall description of HDO's scope. Colleagues from Hub Energy and Health also noted that they work with information as an inherent quality of things (e.g. wind direction).
That notion of information/self-information, understood in the Shannon sense, can be an inherent quality of an entity. In BFO, this suggests it's a specifically dependent continuant - linked to one thing in a universe. BFO/PATO quality may do, or a disposition if we need a process of multiple states arising in a path to generate a probability (suspending the need/non-need for an agent to calculate the probability) This corresponds to "surprisal" and other measures of probability of an event occurring in a state path or similar sequence.
