## Access to SMS

|
|
|
|
|
Currently, several separate instances are hosted at the centers:
|

|

|
|
|
|
##### Login for UFZ employees (with UFZ Credentials)
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
* You can login/register by clicking on the icon at the top right 
|
|
|
|
* Please follow login process with Helmholtz-AAI
|
|
|
|
* Enter your UFZ login data, confirm use of name and email
|
|
|
|
* If you are logged in, you will see your initials in the top right corner instead of the icon
|
|
|
|
* Note that you will be automatically logged out after a period of time (approx. 2 hours of inactivity)
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
##### Login for GFZ employees
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The process is very similar to the one for UFZ employees:
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
* Click on the user icon on the top right corner
|
|
|
|
* Click then on login on the context menu
|
|
|
|
* Search for your institute in the list. You can use the search text input field.
|
|
|
|
* GFZ employees must click on "Helmholtz Centre Potsdam GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences".
|
|
|
|
* Insert the username & password from your account at your local institute login and click on "Anmelden". GFZ employees need to use the domain password.
|
|
|
|
* Confirm that you want to expose the data that is needed to use the SMS (name, email, group information) with a click on "Allow".
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
##### Login for external users
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
External users can use Helmholtz-AAI to login with there home institute. The process is almost identical as for the GFZ login.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Please note: If you want to use some of the login methods not related to scientific institutes, you may need to get unlocked by the HIFIS support. This is a process that is quite fast in general, but if there are any problems, feel free to contact support@hifis.net.

|
|
|
|
|

## Test instances
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Additional to the productive systems there also some test instances. Their purpose is mainly to allow testing & demo use cases of new SMS releases. However they can also be used as playground to test the functionality for new users, without affecting the productive systems.

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
